24(W)×K7

The 24(W)×K7 is a high-performance, rotation-resistant steel wire rope featuring compacted strands. In this designation, "24" indicates the number of outer strands, "W" denotes the Warrington (line-contact) construction, "K" signifies the compacted strand process, and "7" indicates that each strand consists of seven individual wires.

Similar to the 35W×K7, it utilizes a multi-layer strand construction in which the inner and outer layers are laid in opposite directions. Under tension, the opposing rotational torques generated by the inner and outer layers cancel each other out, effectively preventing suspended loads from spinning or the rope itself from kinking.

During the stranding process, the strands undergo cold drawing or swaging through a die, transforming the contact between wires from "line contact" to "surface contact." This results in a smoother strand surface where the wires fit tightly together without significant gaps, achieving a higher metal fill density.
